About CAT

CAT (Common Admission Test) Exam is a computer based management aptitude test conducted every year by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for shortlisting the candidates for MBA programs offered by the premier management institutes. This exam is an important criterion for admission into more than 100 management institutes across India. The CAT exam is conducted every year by IIM’s on rotational basis, whose Exam Dates are usually declared in the month of August.

Any individual who holds a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD)/Differently Able (DA) category) can apply for CAT Exam.

IIM’S also reserves 15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates and 27% seats for NC-OBC candidates. 3% seats are also reserved for Persons with Disabilities, with respect to government norms.

As CAT Exam syllabus is not predefined, it is difficult to predict the question pattern. But based on the previous year’s paper, it has been observed that, CAT Exam tests a candidate on Quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, Logical reasoning and Verbal ability, where an aspirant has to solve 100 questions in 180 minutes.

So start your preparation before it’s too late.
