Square Footage Formula

Square Footage Formula

To know the measurement of a building for a construction project, for a room, or tiles, or a carpet; basically anything that is square, we measure them in the unit: Square footage. Commonly, the area specifically for a room and building is square footage.

The formula is given as:

\[\large Square\;Footage=Length\times Breadth\]

To find out the Square Footage Formula for a triangular area,

\[\large Square\;Footage=\frac{Breadth\times Length}{2}\]

Solved Example

Question: A builder wants to draw a blueprint of the kitchen so that it doesn’t occupies the area more than 120 Sq feet. Then, what is the length of the kitchen if the breadth is 10 ft.

Solution

According to the formula we have:

\(\begin{array}{l}Square\;Footage=Length\times Breadth\end{array} \)

Given,
Sq Footage = 120 Sq feet
Breadth = 10 ft

\(\begin{array}{l}120=Length\times 10\end{array} \)

\(\begin{array}{l}Length=\frac{120}{10}\end{array} \)

\(\begin{array}{l}Length= 12 Sq Feet\end{array} \)
