The prelims consist of 100 questions which need to be answered in 1 hour. So, 36 seconds is approximately allotted for a question. That isn’t all. Here comes the lion’s den that is mains.  Here there are 155 questions in 3 hours where 1 minute 10 seconds is allotted per question.

The mains exam is way more tougher than the prelims so the composite time is more in this examination. These 3 hours you will have to give it your best shot thinking it to be your last time. Do not attempt the questions which are beyond your reach as there is a negative marking for each of the wrong answer.
