Clerk Exam

The clerical post is the initial point for everyone wishing to become a banker. A clerk holds great responsibility for the efficient functioning of a bank. A clerk can be designated to either regional or zonal offices of banks.

Various job Profile of a clerk:

(1)Bank Teller:

They deal directly with customers and he/she is responsible for withdrawal and deposit of cash from the customers. They are often called as cashiers.

(2)Head cashier:

They supervise the cashiers and handle loans.

(3)Single window operator (SWO):

They are assigned a counter and they entertain the requests and inquiries of the customers. They also assist the service managers to handle account related jobs.

(4)Advanced clerks:

They don’t deal with the customers and he/she is responsible for various important background jobs like filling loan documents, field inspections, crediting pensions, etc.

The IBPS conducts clerk exams to recruit clerks for various job profiles across different banks in India.

The SBI conducts its own clerk exam to recruit clerks for its branches.

The prelims and mains exam will be an online test and there is an interview process involved in the clerk recruitment process.

SBI CLERK 2017 vacancies and salary:

The gross salary of the candidates shortlisted after the interview exam will be approximately 20,950 and SBI has announced that the total vacancy for SBI clerk 2017 is 11,000.

SBI CLERK 2017 eligibility criteria:

The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university or equivalent and should be between 20 to 28 years of age.

Note: Age relaxation will apply as per the SBI regulations.

IBPS also conducts a pre exam training for the aspirants and is arranged by the participating banks. This is done to let the candidates be acquainted with the pattern of the questions.

IBPS Clerk 2017 vacancies and salary:

The gross salary of the candidates shortlisted after the mains exam will be approximately 11,765 to 42,020. 11,765 is the basic pay and it varies according to the bank. The vacancy for IBPS CLERK 2017 is approximately 17,000.

IBPS Clerk 2017 eligibility criteria:

(1)The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university or equivalent and should be between 20 to 28 years of age.

(2)The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee.
