SBI Clerk Prelims Syllabus

State Bank of India (SBI) is an Indian multinational, government owned public sector banking and financial services company. They conduct their own exam to recruit candidates for various vacant posts in the SBI. The recruitment process for SBI Clerk Post involves 3 stages namely,

  • Preliminary Examination (Objective type)
  • Main Examination (Objective type)
  • Interview

A candidate has to clear all the stages in order to get the post of Clerk. The major filtration of the candidates take place in the Preliminary Exam that is conducted and the aspirants who clear the first stage are eligible for appearing for the SBI Clerk Mains.

The candidates who are preparing for the SBI Clerk Prelims Exam should have a complete and clear idea of the syllabus content which will help in their preparation. The syllabus of the SBI clerk Prelims Exam consists of three sections:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability

The total marks of the Prelims exam consist of 100 marks and will be a duration of 1 hour. Negative marking is present for each wrong attempt and the candidates will have to clear the sectional cutoff to get shortlisted for the Mains examination.

Negative Marking: The candidate should remember that there is negative marking for every wrong answer in the SBI Clerk Exam and for each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
