What is Personality?
Personality can be generally defined as the set of behaviors, characteristics, thoughts, attitude, habits and expressive patterns evolved from genetic and environmental factors. The term Personality is derived from a Greek word which refers to a mask.
According to the psychotherapist, children inherit the personalities both from their parents and the environment also plays an important role in the development of personality traits.
A gene is a unit which is involved in transmitting characteristics from one generation to the next generation. There are about 20,000 to 25,000 genes in a Human cell and we all almost have an identical gene. Personality is not determined by any of the single genes, but relatively by the actions of numerous genes working together.
