Solution

Ecosystem:

  1. An ecosystem is the fundamental functional unit of an environment where living and non-living creatures interact with one another, both of which are essential for the continuation of life on Earth.
  2. It comprises all living things—plants, animals, microorganisms, and everything else—as well as their non-living surroundings, such as the soil, the land, the air, the water, the dust, and other elements of nature.

Types of an ecosystem:

There are two types of ecosystem: A terrestrial ecosystem, and a Water Ecosystem.

Terrestrial ecosystem:

  1. Only on land can one find these ecosystems.
  2. Based on the climate, temperature, sorts of creatures that live there, the food chain, energy flow, and other considerations, various landforms will have diverse ecosystems.
  3. In comparison to the aquatic Ecosystem, this Ecosystem has a relative water shortage proportion, and sunlight is also more readily available as the primary energy source.
  4. Forest ecosystems, desert ecosystems, mountain ecosystems, and grassland ecosystems are examples of terrestrial ecosystem types.

Aquatic ecosystem:

  1. The majority of the creatures and plants that make up the aquatic environment live in lakes, oceans, and other bodies of water.
  2. This environment includes fish, amphibians, and sea life.
  3. Since there is a plentiful supply of water, organisms use the dissolved oxygen in the water to survive.
  4. This ecosystem encompasses a significantly larger portion of the world than the terrestrial environment.
  5. Freshwater ecosystems and marine ecosystems are the two categories of aquatic ecosystems.
