Indian Expatriate School was founded in the year 2001 by Indian Expatriate Association. It is a root organisation governing the IES. The permission was given by Ministry of Education Malaysia in the year 2002. The school has completed 4 academic years successfully. The principal is Mrs Nandini Gharpure.

The school has been affiliated to CBSE. The academic year of school starts from the month of April to March. Annual Vacation is on May.  The school is operational from 08:50 to 14:30 hours from Sunday to Thursday.  The first term of school commences from March to August, second term from September to December and third term from January to March.

Indian Expatriate School encourages various co-curricular activities to ensure holistic development of the school. The school curriculum comprises of weekly activities namely Abacus, Computers, Physical Education and Taekwondo. Apart from this there are several activities that are conducted such as painting, debate, essay writing, story writing, singing, dancing and more. The school also holds various workshops.
