Cryptic Crossword Contest 2016

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to conduct Cryptic Crossword Competition (CCCC 2016) from 18 April 2016 to 2 Sept 2016, for Class 9 to Class 12 across various cities. The contest will be conducted in two phases –

  1. City Round &
  2. National Round

City round will be a inter school contest where CBSE affiliated schools and schools located in the vicinity of the designated cities can also participate. Each team will consist of two students who has to solve a written cryptic crossword puzzle in 60 minutes.

The winners of the city round will participate in the National Round which will be conducted in New Delhi. In the Quarter Final round, 16 teams will be selected for Semi-finals, out of which 4 teams will be selected for the Finals.

National Winners will be honoured with prizes worth Rs. 25,000 each along with trophies and certificates and the Runners-up will receive trophies, certificates & prizes worth Rs. 15,000 each. 3rd and 4th National Finalists will win trophies, certificates and prizes worth Rs.10,000. City Round winners will also be appreciated with trophies and certificates.

City round winners and their school escort will be endowed with second class rail fare to encourage them to participate in the National Level Round.
