CMAT Exam Syllabus – Introduction
CMAT Exam 2022 consists of 5 sections – Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Candidates attempting the CMAT 2022 must be aware of the CMAT Exam Syllabus.

CMAT Exam Pattern 2022
CMAT 2022 will consist of 5 sections comprising 20 questions in each section. The paper will be for 400 marks. The table below gives an overview of the CMAT 2022 Exam pattern:

Each question in the CMAT 2022 will be for 4 marks. However, in case of an incorrect answer, the candidate will be penalised with a -1 mark per question. Unanswered questions will not be given any marks. The total duration of the CMAT exam is 180 minutes.
CMAT Section-wise Syllabus
The CMAT Syllabus 2022 will be as prescribed by the AICTE. The CMAT syllabus has been constant over the years. CMAT 2021 introduced a new section on Innovation and Entrepreneurship consisting of 25 questions. This section was optional in 2021. However, CMAT 2022 also consists of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship section, but the number of questions has been reduced to 20. Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Syllabus
This section consists of a total of 20 questions. There has been a reduction in the number of questions in this section in CMAT 2022 when compared with CMAT 2021 (25 questions). This section tests the analytical skills of the candidates. To ace this section, candidates need to have the fundamentals clear and should be aware of the shortcuts.

This section consists of 20 questions. Each correct question carries +4 marks, and every incorrect response results in a negative marking of -1 marks. This section is the latest entrant to the CMAT. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship section was introduced in the year 2021. However, in CMAT 2021, this section was optional, consisting of 25 questions. The CMAT 2022 also has a section on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This section was introduced in order to motivate the candidates who wish to become entrepreneurs, as in many CMAT institutes, there are courses on Entrepreneurship.
