The Veterinary Council of India is an apex body that regulates the practice of veterinary medicine in India. It was established under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984. Students who have a unique interest in pursuing their studies in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry can opt for undergraduate studies in Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry through the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2023. AIPVT is conducted by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
All India Pre Veterinary Test was replaced with NEET in the year 2017. To become a registered veterinarian in India, one needs to clear the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for admission into a veterinary college. The eligibility to apply for NEET-UG is based on the minimum qualifications set by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The duration of the B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree programme lasts five and a half years, including a one-year rotating mandatory internship.
This article explains the VCI AIPVT dates, exam pattern, eligibility criteria, syllabus, results, counselling, and admission process.
