Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) is deemed to be University located in the prime location of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. HITSEEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Admissions to HITS take place according to the University norms. Admissions are based on the entrance exam rank and Class 12/intermediate/HSC/equivalent examination marks.
Below are the eligibility criteria of HITSEEE 2023 for the B.Tech course, B.Arch course and lateral entry programs.
B.Tech course eligibility to register for online entrance examination:
A Candidate should have cleared (10+2) or its equivalent by studying subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and one of the subjects like Biotechnology or Biology, Chemistry, as the required technical vocational subjects. The candidate should have earned a minimum of 50% in the aforementioned disciplines taken together, with a minimum of 60% in maths or 45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
The candidate should have cleared any other exam of any authority or university accepted by HITS as an equivalent of Class 12/plus two.
Cambridge norms (General Certificate of Education – GCE)
The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Cambridge International Examinations should have been studied by individuals planning to enrol in first-year E&T courses. Additionally, students have earned “Advanced Level Passes” in subjects like English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics at AS level.
Eligibility criteria for vocational stream
Candidates who completed their technical vocational subjects/HSC (vocational stream) with engineering as well as one or more related subjects, such as Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, are qualified, provided they have cleared qualifying exams and received a minimum overall score of 50% in the vocational & related subjects.
B.Arch course eligibility to register for online entrance examination:
In order to be admitted to the architecture program, a candidate must have either cleared the 10+2 system of exams with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry subjects or cleared the 10+3 diploma exam with Mathematics as a required subject.
The applicant must have cleared either the NATA or JEE exams.
Online Examination:
- Students who are awaiting results of their Class 12 or higher secondary exams are eligible to enrol for the online entrance exam.
- Only Indian citizens and those who have completed their HSC/Class 12/plus two in Indian schools are eligible to register for the online entrance exam.
- NRIs and foreign nationals are exempt from the online entrance exam.
- As of 1st July of the application year, the maximum age of the candidate should be 19 years.
Eligibility criteria for lateral entry second-year B.Tech program
Diploma Candidates
Candidates meeting only the following requirements are eligible for admission to second-year lateral entry B.Tech degree programs:
Candidates should have cleared a diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology of the state board of technical education and training, Tamil Nadu or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% of marks.
B.Sc. Candidates
Candidates must have completed a recognised Bachelor’s degree in science with a minimum of three years of study and a minimum grade of 50%. They must also have studied mathematics at Class 12/plus two level or as a core or ancillary subject at the B.Sc. level alone to be eligible for admission to the B.Tech degree program.

According to University requirements, admission will be granted on the basis of merit, taking into account performance in the entrance exam, performance in Class 12/HSC/plus two and other factors.
Candidates should have cleared the 10+2 test or an equivalent exam with a minimum score of 50% (overall) in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics subjects. Any additional exam from a university or authority that this University accepts as being equivalent to plus two. |
HITSEEE 2023 Application Form
Applicants can submit the application form online or offline mode. Students submitting HITSEEE applications offline should submit them before the deadline specified by the authorities at the admission office, along with the prescribed application fee in the form of a demand draft. Students who have earned the required marks may apply to any of the University’s undergraduate programmes.

Special Admission Programmes

Re-admission
Re-registering is possible for students who were initially enrolled at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science but did not show up for the specific semester or term, provided they did so with good conduct and did not enrol in any other schools after leaving Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. By submitting a re-admission form, such students may be readmitted. Under no circumstances will students who have been expelled from the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science or any other institution be readmitted.
HITSEEE 2023 Pattern
The HITSEEE 2023 is held for 2 hours. 120 questions in the areas of Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics must be answered by the candidates. HITSEEE 2023 Syllabus

HITSEEE 2023 Results
HITSEEE 2023 results are announced by the University authorities after the examination on the said date. Students must have a look at the official website for regular updates. Based on the students’ performances in the HITSEEE, the results are declared by the authorities. The merit list is also announced by the University. This includes the names of the qualified candidates in the HITSEEE exam. Qualified students are called for the HITSEEE counselling procedure for seat allotment.
HITSEEE 2023 Cut-off
The HITSEEE cut-off will be declared by the University after the examination. The cut-off is the least score that the candidate must obtain to be eligible for admission to the institute. The HITSEEE cut-off is calculated based on various factors like seat availability, level of difficulty, and the total number of candidates appearing for the exam.
HITSEEE 2023 Counselling
Students who have been shortlisted in the merit list or students who have qualified for the HITSEEE 2023 examination are eligible for HITSEEE 2023 counselling. During seat allotment, based on the choice of course and rank secured, candidates are given preference for seat allotment. Higher rank students are given first priority.
