IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) determines the Eligibility Criteria for IISER Aptitude Test. The Eligibility Criteria for the three different channels, namely, KVPY, JEE Advanced and SCB, are declared separately. Candidates are advised to check their eligibility for the exam before filling out the IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Application Form. In case of failing to fulfil the Eligibility Criteria, the candidate’s candidature will be cancelled.
The Eligibility Criteria for the three different channels of application are given below:
- For KVPY:
- Candidates must hold a KVPY Fellowship commencing from the academic year 2023-24.
- Candidates must have scored more than the prescribed cut-off marks in the KVPY channel.
- For JEE Advanced:
- Candidate must have qualified JEE Advanced in the year of applying to the IISER Aptitude Test.
- The rank secured by the General category candidates in JEE Advanced must fall into the limit that will be prescribed by the official authorities. The candidate must obtain a rank lower than 10000 (tentative) in the Common Rank List (CRL).
- For SCB:
- Candidate must have passed the Grade 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board of Education of India.
- Candidates still appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. In such a case, the candidates must submit proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
- The concerned authorities determine the cut-off that must be met by the candidate for IISER 2023 admissions. The candidates applying through this channel must appear mandatorily for IISER Aptitude Test 2023.
IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern for the IISER Aptitude Test is designed by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research. IISER Aptitude Test is conducted on an Online Computer Based Test (CBT). The IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Question Paper consists of 60 Questions carrying 3 marks each. There is a negative marking, in which 0.75 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer by the candidate. IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Application Form
The Application Forms for IISER Aptitude Test 2023 have been released online on the official website. The Application Form window has been made open from May 25, 2023, for candidates applying via the SCB channel.
Candidates must ensure that the details in the IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Application Form match the details in their Grade 10 Report Card. If any discrepancy is found in the details entered by the candidate in the IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Application Form to Grade 10 Report Card, the application of the candidate will be cancelled.

It is advised that candidates must download and take the printout of the Downloaded Admit Card. The IISER Aptitude Test 2023 conducting body, i.e. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), will not send or post the IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Admit Cards to any candidate individually. Candidates must carry the printout of the Admit Card and a photo ID card for the verification of identity on the day of examination. In case of failure to bring to Admit Card and the photo ID card to the examination centre, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

IISER Aptitude Test 2023 Counselling
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will conduct Counselling for all participating candidates from the month of September 2023. Various rounds of Counselling are conducted for each channel of the examination. The first and second rounds of Seat Allotment have been scheduled on August 23, 2023, and September 6, 2023, respectively, for the candidates of the SCB channel.
The Seats will be allotted based on the candidate’s marks, seat availability in the preferred course and rank in the common rank list.
