The Assam Joint Lateral Entry Examination (Assam JLEE) is conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), as authorised by the government of Assam. Assam JLEE Important Dates
The Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) has not yet announced the schedule for the Assam JLEE 2023. However, we provided the tentative dates for Assam JLEE 2023 here.

Assam JLEE 2023 Examination Centres
The ASTU will announce two centres for Assam JLEE 2023. The two examination centres are located at:
- Guwahati
- Jorhat
Assam JLEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the following conditions in order to be eligible for admission to the Engineering Colleges of Assam:
- The candidate must have pursued a three-year Diploma course from any Polytechnic Institution of Assam under the State Council of Technical Education (SCTE).
- The candidate’s minimum overall percentage in the Diploma course must be 45% (40% for the SC/ST candidates).
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Candidates studying at the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) and the Assam Energy Institute are eligible to appear for Assam JLEE 2023.
- Candidates still appearing for the final examinations of their Diploma course are also eligible for taking the Assam JLEE 2023. These candidates will have to submit their Original Marksheet and the Pass Certificate on the day of admission.
Instructions for Filling Out the Application Form
Candidates must be aware of the instructions required for filling out the Online Application Form. These instructions are given below.
- A coloured passport-size photograph must be uploaded to the Online Application Form. The size of the photograph must be less than 35 KB.
- The desired dimensions for the photograph are:
- Height: Must be between 250-320 pixels.
- Width: Must be between 150-220 pixels.
- The size of the scanned copy of signatures must be between 4-35 KB.
- The desired dimensions for the signature are:
- Height: Must be between 100-180 pixels.
- Width: Must be between 150-220 pixels.
- The format of the signature must be either JPEG or JPG.
- Candidates must have a valid email ID, as all communication regarding the examination will be made through the email ID.
- The candidates must enter a valid phone number, as all information and updates regarding the examination will be sent to the candidates via SMS.
- After submitting the Online Application Form, no changes can be made to it.
- Candidates must not send the hard copy of the Application Form or any other forms to the Assam Science and Technology University.
General Instructions
- The Counselling of Assam JLEE 2023 will not be conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University.
- The candidature of a candidate will be considered cancelled in case of the unfulfillment of the eligibility criteria. Neither the Assam Science and Technology University nor the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) will be responsible for the rejection of candidature.
- Candidates must either take a printout of the Application Form or remember their Application Number for reference at the time of Counselling and admission.
- The computers will do the evaluation of the OMR sheets. Candidates must use only the BLACK BALL PEN for filling out the OMR sheet and mark all the options carefully.
- Any request for manual re-checking or re-evaluation will not be entertained.
- Candidates must carry along the following things/documents on the day of examination:
- A BLACK BALL POINT PEN
- Any of the following valid Photo Identification Proof issued by the Government of India – Pan Card/ Aadhaar Card/ Driving Licence/ Grade 12 Board Registration or Admit Card/ Voter ID Card/ Passport/ E-Aadhaar/ Ration Card.
- Candidates must reach the exam centre 1 hour before the commencement of the examination.
- Assam JLEE 2023 Results will be declared ten days after the examination on the official website of the Assam Science and Technology University.
Assam JLEE 2023 Fees Structure
An amount of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only) has to be paid online as the Application Fee using the “State Bank Collect”. The mode of online payment can either be through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. Candidates must note the following points regarding the application fee:
- The examination fee is non-refundable.
- A hard copy of the application form or any other documents is not acceptable at the Assam Science and Technology University.
- The candidates must pay the application fee online before the submission date of the online application form.
- Any communication regarding the failure to pay the application fee by the candidate after the submission of the application form will not be entertained.
Assam JLEE 2023 Admit Card
The tentative date for the release of admit cards is seven days before the Assam JLEE 2023. The admit cards will be available for download online from seven days before the examination till the day of the examination. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website www.astu.ac.in by entering their Application Form Number or User ID and Password.
Note: The issue of the admit card does not imply that the candidate is eligible for admission. It simply means that the candidate is allowed to appear for the examination.
