Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) is one of the top technology and management schools in India. SMIT was established in 1997. SMIT is the first technological campus in Sikkim that provides top-notch technological education and encourages the students’ overall development. The campus is fully residential and located in stunning scenery across 35 gorgeously manicured acres, which is home to nearly 3200 students, 220 teaching members, and sizable and effective support staff. Various Engineering, Basic Science, and Management Studies courses are offered at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. SMIT is among the top 3 private engineering colleges according to India Today (east zone). Courses offered by the SMIT are approved by AICTE.
Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech programmes at SMIT should apply and clear the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology Online Test (SMIT Online Test) conducted by Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. Students who qualify for this exam are eligible for seat selection through the SMIT counselling process. Candidates who qualify for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) or the JEE Main exam are excluded from taking the SMIT online examination since they shall be eligible for direct admission.
