Candidates who appeared for CAT 2015 can expect their results in the second week of January. This year the number of candidates who registered for the test were 2,18,664 but the candidates who took the test were 1,79,602.
The CAT score will be valid till December 31st,2016 and the candidate’s scorecard will be available on the IIM CAT portal till then.
CAT has been ranked as the toughest competitive examination in India for selection into the IIMs and other top B Schools. 1.7 Lakh + students vie for close to 1500 seats in these top institutes.
Each IIM is going to send the interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. As you are well aware that the criteria and cut-offs vary from branch to branch, this year it has been estimated that IIM will expect more number of non-engineer this year. IIMs are going to achieve this new trend of the diversity of academic streams in their classes, as a total of 112,012 numbers of engineers appeared in CAT 2015 whereas 67590 candidates were from other educational backgrounds, like commerce, science, arts, humanities etc.
The students can check their results at iimcat.ac.in once they are declared.
