To meet the increasing demand of MBA course, various Business Schools (B-Schools) have been established in the country. Amongst the B-Schools, the Indian Institutes Of Management (IIMs) are the highest ranked institutes. The IIMs like other management schools, conduct an entrance test called CAT as a prerequisite for admissions to their different programmes.
CAT 2017 Exam Fees:
Category | Fees |
SC, ST, PWD | Rs. 900/- |
Other Category Candidates | Rs. 1800/- |
It is important to note that the CAT exam fees include the application fees of all the 20 IIMs in the country. It should also be known that, apart from the 20 IIMs, numerous other prestigious B-Schools also accept the CAT scores for admissions. This makes the CAT exam as the cheapest MBA entrance test in the country.
CAT- Cheapest MBA Entrance Test:
As previously mentioned that the CAT 2017 Registration fees include application fees of all the 20 IIMs, the application fees for individual IIMs comes to just Rs. 90/- (1800/20) and even less for reserved category students (Rs. 45/- to be precise). As it is known that no other MBA entrance tests offer the benefit for applying to B-Schools without additional application fees, the CAT is, therefore, the cheapest entrance test amongst the others.
The CAT registration process will close on September 20, 2017 and the form includes the 20 IIM list where the candidates can freely apply upon paying the application fees and appearing for CAT 2017 exam. With over 48 programmes in the IIMs, the candidates are free to choose their preferred programme in their preferred institutes.
The CAT Exam Score:
The candidates should know that the IIM selection criteria vary from institute to institute. So, just applying for the institutes might not guarantee a seat in their preferred Institute. For initial shortlisting, the institutes check the CAT score of the candidates along with their other respective criteria as given in detail in the above the link.
