CAT 2018 Exam Date Released

The exam date for Common Admission Test i.e. CAT 2018 was released on the official website. As per the official website of iimcat, the CAT 2018 exam was held on Sunday, 25th November. The website also stated that the detailed official notification was released by July/ August.

CAT 2018 Exam Date

The CAT is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management every year on a rotational basis. The conducting institute for CAT 2018 was IIM Kolkata. It should be noted that the IIMs hold the authority to change the CAT 2018 exam date in case of any exceptional circumstances.

The CAT 2018 was conducted in two sessions on November 25th. The morning session or slot 1 commenced from 9 AM to 12 Noon while the afternoon session i.e. slot 2 was conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The applicants were alloted a single session time slot based on the availability of test centres in their preferred test city.

CAT 2017 was conducted on 26th November, 2017 by IIM Lucknow. For CAT 2017, the registration started from 9th August, 2017. Similarly, it can be expected that CAT 2018 registration started by the same time i.e. August 9th, 2018. Almost 2.3 lakh candidates had registered in CAT 2017 and this number is expected to increase for CAT 2018.

The CAT is conducted by the IIMs every year as a prerequisite for admissions in all the IIMs. Many top non-IIMs also consider CAT scores as a shortlisting criterion. MBA aspirants are required to be well acquainted with the CAT syllabus and be well-prepared to be able to ace the exam.

The CAT exam includes 3 sections i.e Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability & reading comprehension and logical reasoning & data interpretation. The exam is of 300 marks and includes both MCQs and Non-MCQs. The exam duration is 3 hours and the total questions are 300.
