IIM Lucknow - Check these Admission Criteria released by IIM – L

Aspirants who have scored well all through their academic career and looking for a seat at IIM – can expect a call from IIM – Lucknow this year. IIM – L announced its admission criteria which says that the candidates who scored not that well in CAT but have an outstanding career profile – will be called for further rounds.

The weightage to CAT 2016 has been lowered from 78% to 60% this year. CAT score will be given only 30% weightage, and rest of it depends on the academic profile, work experience and diversity.

IIM – L is among the top ten elite Business Schools of the country. has regularly been ranked in the top b school list.

The minimum cut off for a CAT 2016 aspirant was to score a minimum of 85 percentile in the sectional cut off and a 90 percentile minimum overall score was required

The merit list were generated for PGP, PGP – ABM & PGP – SM programme for 2016 – 18 batch after the results were declared.

The eligibility criteria for IIM – Lucknow PGPM (Post Graduate Programme in Management) for the candidates belonging to different categories are as follows:

Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management at IIM Lucknow is a full-time programme offered by the institute. it is a residential program that is specially crafted for the entrepreneurs and leaders to promote the attitude required to carry out a growing agri-business with strong international exposure.

The eligibility criteria for IIM – Lucknow, Postgraduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGPSM) for the candidates belonging to different categories are as follows:

Points to note:

  • 20% Weightage to academic diversity and profile will be given. As compared to last year, it was only 10% last, where only 5 points out of 50 were awarded.
  • No weightage will be given to class 10 marks
  • Class 12 marks will be considered if scored 80%+.
  • After applying the normalization process for different streams like commerce, arts, science, graduation marks will be awarded on a scale of 10.

Work experience will carry 10% points as shortlisting criteria at IIM – L. Internship, non-paid apprenticeship or articleship work will not be considered as a criterion for work experience. Last year, only 2% was the weightage given to work experience.

Academic diversity will carry 5% of points for the flagship program – Postgraduate Program in Management.
Courses that qualify for Academic Diversity are:

  • Arts:
    Education Archaeology, Languages, Psychology, Fine Arts Public Administration (Dance, Music, Painting), Geography, Literature, History, Journalism, Library Science, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Welfare, Social Work.
  • Commerce/Economics: Auditing, Public Administration, Banking, Business Mathematics, Chartered Accountancy Business Organisation, Accountancy Economics, Economic Development and Planning, Public Finance, Secretarial Practices, Company Secretaryship, Cost and Works Accountancy.
  • Others: Law,  Pharmacology/Pharmacy, Education (including Physical Education and Sports); Medicine/Dentistry;

Female candidates

Female candidates will be awarded a total of 5% points as a part of gender diversity criteria.

No Group Discussion in the Personal Interview round :

IIM – L will not be conducting a group discussion round during the final selection, the points that were earlier given for the group discussion round will be carried on to the personal interview round.

Passing in the Personal Interview will require the candidate to score 12 out of 40 marks. The merit list will not be carrying the name who didn’t pass the PI round.
