Eligibility Criteria for GMAT

The Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) are the shrine for Indian MBA aspirants and successfully drawing the attention of international students for its pragmatic teaching methods. The IIMs are founded after the initiative taken by the prime minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru after the recommendations of the Planning Commission.

Mainly the institutions offer postgraduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. At present, there are 20 IIMs are running across the country. And they’re persistently producing successful managers who are serving at big corporation houses known globally. Along with it they’re developing strong entrepreneurs and embarking their reach across the globe through their firms.      

Qualification Requirement & Eligibility

To get into any one of the IIMs, the candidates must possess the following combination of the requirements:

  1. The applicants must have the industrial exposure of minimum three years and maximum more than 15 years before applying to the PGP programs.
  2. The applicants must have a three/four years of degree from UGC accredited university after completing school education i.e. 10th+12th+ Bachelors Degree.
  3. The Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for programs offered by the IIMs
  4. .

Abreast of it, IIMs ask students to submit the following MBA entrance test score along with the application forms:

(i) Common Aptitude Test (CAT)

The test is jointly conducted by the IIMs for the Indian students for want to pursue the PGP programs from these B-schools.

(ii) Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

GMAT is an internationally recognized standard MBA entrance test. Through this, the international students can also apply to PGP courses offered. For application, they have to have to upload the valid GMAT scorecard along with the application form, or else, they could send the score directly to while selecting the B-schools at the time of GMAT registration.

(iii) Graduate Record Test (GRE)

GRE is a considered as a standardized test for post graduate courses, IIMs also accept the scores for their PGP programs. For the application, they have to have to upload the valid GRE scorecard along with the application form.

At the time of admission process, the students are required to attach the following documents along with any one of the score report card mentioned above; the required  documents are:

  • A Statement of Purpose
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • An Updated Curriculum Vitae
