(IIM) Shillong: Eligibility Criteria for GMAT Candidates

 

iim-shillongThe Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management now ‘IIM Shillong’ a fully autonomous institute was founded in 2008 by Indian Government. The decision of setting up the campus was made in 2004 by the Union Minister of HRD. It aimed to excel in management studies and research with a vision of expansion of facilities for providing quality management education.

It is administered by the board of Governor and managed by various committees, IIMC and FCGC.

Programs offered

IIM Shillong offers courses like,

  • Post Graduate Program (PGP). It is a two-year full time PG program in management.
  • Post Graduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPX). It is 14 months full time management program for executives.
  • Fellow Program in Management. It is four- year full time doctoral program.

Eligibility Criteria in IIM Shillong after Qualifying GMAT

To be a part of any management program in IIM Shillong, you need to qualify CAT/GMAT, Bachelor’s degree after 10+2 and proficiency in English. However, few other metrics like academic performance, experience etc keeps a good weightage to get shortlisted. The normalized CAT/GMAT/ Score vary every year.

  • CAT- current year score (2 years for PGPex)
  • GMAT – No earlier than 2 years from application date. (3 years for PGPex)
  • A bachelor degree with minimum 50% or equivalent CGPA for general and 45% for SC, ST and DA.
  • For doctoral program, a master’s degree with minimum 55% marks and a Bachelor degree with no less than 55% score and maximum age 28 years.

Admission Procedure for GMAT candidates

To be a part of PGP in IIM Shillong, you need to qualify CAT score but overseas candidates who are GMAT score holders can pursue PGP in management. The Admission board scrutinize the applications on the basis of GMAT score. The candidates are called for a group discussion session and personal interview. Based on GD-PI the candidate is selected.

For The Post Graduate Program for Executive the qualifying score of CAT/GMAT is considered. Also their academic records are evaluated. The list from this group is finalized for for participating in an EAC.

Overseas students can apply with their latest GMAT score (not more than 24 months). Applicants with strong managerial/supervisory role experience are given priority.

GMAT holders with master’s degree with 55% marks are also eligible for Fellow Program in Management.Candidates are required to hold valid normalized score meant for them. A list for final round is prepared on the basis of CAT/GMAT score. The shortlisted ones are called for interview. Those who clear PI are finalized to pursue the fellow program.

Fee Structure

The recently revised fee is 8 Lakhs for PGP and 13 lakhs for PGPex. However, for Chinese Nationals and other Nationals, it is USD 24000 and USD 2700 respectively. The fee amounted is only tuition and accommodation fee.

IIM Shillong Placement

IIM Shillong has a record of getting good placement. The median CTC offered on campus was 12.59 LPA. The highest domestic offer was 23.35 LPA. Kohler, HSBC, ICICI Prudential, ICICI Bank, Fidelity, HDFC, TATA Steel, IBM, SBI, Thomson Reuters, Ola, Dabur, Larsen & Toubro, Apollo Hospitals and many other major players.
