Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing
The United States of America dropped nuclear bombs on the two Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, with the consent of Great Britain as per the Quebec Agreement in the month of August in 1945. This was during the last stages of the Second World War. This was the only usage of nuclear weaponry in the history of mankind. During the ending year of the war, the Allies were anticipating an expensive invasion on Japan. Before this, the USA firebombed many Japanese cities which were left completely destroyed. In Europe, the war had ended after Nazi Germany signed the instrument of surrender in May 1945. But Japan declined to surrender and the war continued in the Pacific front.
