Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education
STEM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; it refers to the clubbing together of these disciplines for a multi-disciplinary education of students through an applied approach. The idea is to integrate these subjects and teach them to students with a curriculum that better reflects real-world application and problems. This approach was previously called METS standing for Math, Engineering, Technology and Science. The term STEM is used particularly in reference to a national educational policy and curriculum development to enhance excellence in science and technology. This has great implications in national security concerns, immigration policy and development of workforce.
