The Skill India Campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2015. It aims to give training to more than 40 crore people in several different skills by the year 2022. The various schemes under this campaign are: National Skill Development Mission; Rural India Skill; National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Skill Loan Scheme; and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. As of February 2016, the campaign has given training to more than 51000 people within 100 days. The mission is set to provide human capital support to various other initiatives like the Smart Cities, Digital India and the Make in India initiatives.
