- Currently a total of 692 million active internet users are there in India
- The mix contains 351 million from rural India and 341 from urban Indian.
- The report projects this to be 900 million by 2025.
- Online Transactions- currently about 346 million online transactions including e-commerce and digital payments.
- Covid-19 pandemic sparked a 51% increase in digital transactions in the last two years.
- Not surprisingly, male users are more than females in both rural and urban settings.

- As expected social media, entertainment and communications constitute the top three activities.
- The usage of OTT platforms is comparable in rural and urban India
- Goa has the maximum Internet penetration while Bihar fares at the bottom.
Population out of reach of the Internet yet
- As many as 762 million Indians still miss-out, including 63% from rural pockets.
- Lack of awareness in rural India is still a major roadblock.
