UPSC Exam Centres 2018

The UPSC civil services mains exam 2018 will commence on 28th September with the Essay Paper. The exam goes on for five days culminating with the optional papers on 7th October. Once the UPSC prelims 2018 results are out, successful candidates should apply for the mains exam separately through the UPSC online portal. While applying, candidates should fill in the Detailed Application Form (DAF) carefully since this information is the basis of your cadre and service preference. It is also important from the UPSC personality test point of view.

Candidates will be allocated a mains exam centre based on the preference they would have given while applying for the prelims itself. There are 24 IAS mains exam centres, and candidates would be allocated one of them on a “first-apply-first allot”. Candidates should remember that once allotted, the Commission will not entertain any requests for a change in the exam centre.
