Candidates who aspire to apply for the GATE examination 2022 can check the complete eligibility criteria from here. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), also referred to as a National level entrance exam, is regulated by the IITs and IISCs rotationally. The GATE Exams are being held for candidates seeking admissions in M. Tech/ ME and other programmes provided by IITs, NITs and other institutions and colleges.
Meanwhile, as of 2021, the eligibility criteria to appear for the GATE exams have been relaxed by IIT Bombay from the minimum 10+2+4 (ongoing) to a minimum of 10+2+3 (ongoing). This will enable even those in the third year of their undergraduate studies to appear for the examination. As per the FAQs answered on the official website, any undergraduate (UG) student in the third year or higher years of any government-approved program in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Arts/Commerce/Science is eligible to appear for GATE Exams 2022. However, to specify further, these candidates are expected to complete the Bachelor’s degree in Science (Post-Diploma/4 years after 10+2). The candidates currently in the third year or higher grade or already completed B.Sc. Research or has a Post-B.Sc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering/ Technology (4-year program) are eligible to apply for the GATE Exams 2022. Also, as of 2022, any candidate who has a Bachelor degree in any branch of Science / Arts / Commerce (3 year program) or who is currently in the 3rd year or already completed the course are eligible to apply for the GATE exams 2022.
