No, MBBS students cannot appear in the GATE examination, and the reason is simple. The exam is conducted to check the core knowledge of Science and Engineering students. MBBS is a different department altogether. Therefore, medical students belonging to BDS, MS, MBBS, etc are not eligible for the GATE exam.
There are many Bachelor degree students who can appear for GATE except the students who belong to the medical field like MBBS, BDS, BHMS and all.
