150 out of a lakh students who applied for ISRO's Residential Training Programme, selected

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently said that almost 1 lakh students from across the country applied for the ISRO residential training programme out of which a total of 150 students have been selected from all the states and union territories of India.

“Around one lakh students applied for the programme. Finally, 150 students were selected based on the academic scores and achievements in other co-curricular activities,” said ISRO as per media reports.

The Indian space agency is conducting YUVIKA which is YUva VIgyani KAryakram from May 16 to May 28, 2022. YUVIKA or the Young Scientist Programme is a special programme for School Children to impart basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger students preferably from rural areas.

Earlier this week, Secretary, DOS/Chairman, ISRO inaugurated YUVIKA-2022 in a virtual event in the presence of directors of all major centres, Scientific Secretary, ISRO, Dr TK Alex and Director, CBPO.
