The Airports Authority of India (AAI) was established by an Act of Parliament on April 1, 1995, by combining the former National Airports Authority and the International Airports Authority of India. The merger created a single organisation tasked with developing, improving, maintaining, and administering the country’s civil aviation infrastructure, both on the ground and in the air.

AAI maintains 137 airports in total, including 24 international airports (3 civil enclaves), 10 custom airports (4 civil enclaves), and 103 domestic airports (23 Civil Enclaves). 

AAI has been charged with the key tasks of developing, improving, maintaining, and administering the country’s civil aviation infrastructure on the ground and in the air.

AAI is conducting recruitment for 364 vacancies for different posts, such as Manager (Official language), Junior Executive (Air Traffic Control), Junior Executive (Official Language), and Senior Assistant (Official Language).

AAI ATC Eligibility Criteria

AAI ATC has certain eligibility requirements for recruiting candidates to the above-mentioned posts such as age limit, educational qualification and experience. The details of the AAI ATC eligibility requirements are given below.

Nationality

Only Indian Nationals fulfilling eligibility criteria can apply for the above posts.

Age Limit

The age limit for different categories are as follows:

Senior Assistant – Maximum 30 years as on 21st January 2023

Junior Executive – Maximum 27 years as on 21st January 2023

Manager – Maximum 32 years as on 21st January 2023

Age Relaxation for AAI ATC Recruitment 2022

Educational Qualification

The AAI ATC mandatory qualification for the post of JE ATC is as follows:

  1. Degree/Diploma/Certificate should be:‐

(i) From a Recognized/Deemed university or from an apex institution i.e. (IIT/IIMs/XLRI/TISS etc.) recognized by Govt.  of India;  and  

(ii) Percentage  of  marks:  ‐  Minimum  60%  marks  or  equivalent  for  Bachelor’s  Degree  and  also  for  P.G.  Degree/Diploma including MBA.  

  1. Candidates having B.E./B. Tech/ B. Sc. (Engg.) Degree are allowed to apply against the post for which essential qualification  is prescribed as Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. 

For Junior Executive under Air Traffic Control, the basic educational qualification required is as follows:

Full-Time Regular Bachelors’ Degree of three years in Science (B.Sc) with Physics and Mathematics. 

OR 

Full-Time Regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any discipline. (Physics & Mathematics should be subjects in any one of the semester’s curricula). 

&

The candidate shall have minimum proficiency in both spoken and written English of the level of 10+2 standard (the candidate shall have passed English as one of the subjects in 10th or 12th standard).

AAI ATC Exam Application

The AAI ATC application form filling details are given below. Aspirants must have all essential documents while filling out the online application form. The online application form must be filled out without any errors to avoid rejection of the candidature.

Junior Executive (Air Traffic Control)  – Process of Examination

There will be an online examination followed by:

  • Documents Verification, 
  • Voice Test, 
  • Test for consumption of Psychoactive Substances

How to Apply for the AAI ATC exam?

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to know the online application process for AAI ATC exam.

  1. Visit the official website – www.aai.aero and check the tab “CAREERS” or click on the direct link https://www.aai.aero/en/careers/recruitment
  2. Click on the registration link to start to the application process.
  3. Have a valid email address and phone number before starting the application process.
  4. Keep all important documents ready before filling the online application form, such as  documents related to eligibility criteria- Educational Qualification, Experience Certificate, Disability Certificate, Discharge Certificate in case of Ex-Servicemen, Apprentice Certificate from AAI etc.
  5. Fill all the details carefully and then head on to payment section.
  6. On clicking submit button, you will be navigated to the SBI MOPS payment portal. The candidates are required to deposit the requisite examination fees online through Internet Banking/Debit/Credit Card.
  7. After the Payment is completed, you shall be automatically redirected to the application portal.
  8. Candidates can save the submitted application form for future reference.

Note – Candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph of 20kb-50kb and Dimensions 200×230 pixels. 

The signature requirements for online application is:

  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with a Black ink pen. 
  • Size of signature file should be between 10kb-20kb Dimensions 140×60 pixels

AAI ATC Application fee

The application fee for the AAI ATC exam is Rs.1000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) and has to be paid by candidates through online mode only. 

SC/ST/PWD candidates/ Apprentices who have successfully completed one year of Apprenticeship Training in AAI/ Female candidates are exempted from Fee payment… 

AAI ATC Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The exam pattern for the Junior Executive (Air Traffic Control) is as follows:

AAI ATC Pay Scale

The recruits under AAI ATC are entitled to Basic pay, Dearness Allowance, Perks accounting to 35% of Basic pay, HRA and other benefits, which include CPF, Gratuity, Social Security Schemes, Medical benefits etc., as per AAI Rules.

AAI ATC Answer Key

The Airports Authority of India released the AAI ATC 2023 answer key on 24th Feburary 2023. Candidates can login to the official website and check the answers, raise objections related to any discrepancies during the timeframe allotted.

Steps to check AAI ATC answer key

  1. Go to the official website–aai.aero
  2. Once you open the homepage, click on the AAI ATC answer key link
  3. A screen with a new login page appears
  4. Provide your User ID and password
  5. Submit details and access the login portal
  6. Check the answer key and download the answer key for future reference.

Aspirants can challenge the AAI ATC answer key by logging into the portal. Aspirants can log in using their credentials, pay the designated amount for each objection and submit their query.

Once the AAI JE provisional answer key is released and challenged, AAI will review the challenges and release the final answer key for the exam. This will also lead to the release of the final result. Once this is completed, AAI will conduct the remaining phases of the exam- document verification (DV), voice testing, and background checks for the candidates who pass the CBT exam.

The functions of AAI are as follows:

    1. AAI is responsible for handling the Design, Development, Operation and Maintenance of international and domestic airports.
