The Civil Services preliminary examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruiting higher civil services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service is going to be conducted on 5 June 2022.
The registration process started in February this year, and the admit cards became available on the official website on 10 May 2022. Around 9 lakh candidates apply every year for the exams out of which only a handful get selected. The positions offered by civil services are the most desired ones in the country.
Selection Process for Union Public Service Commission
The selection of candidates is based on three stages:
- The first stage is the preliminary examination, which will be held offline. The 2 hour paper will be Objective Type Multiple Choice and will have negative marking i.e. for every wrong answer â…“ marks will be deducted. The language of Examination will be Hindi and English.
- The second stage will be the Mains exams, which will consist of 9 papers of 3 hours each, question type will be descriptive and the language used will be Hindi and English.
- The last stage is the Interview round, in which the candidates are tested on the basis of their personality.
UPSC Mains will be conducted from 15 September 2022 onwards. The final merit is the outcome of the result obtained in Mains and interview.
