UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Exam 2017
Latest Information:
The UPSC Notification 2017 was released recently by the Commission wherein it invites candidates to take the UPSC civil services 2017 exam. Indian citizens with a bachelor’s degree can attempt the UPSC 2017 exam and become civil servants or diplomats of the country. This year, is are a total of about 980 vacancies with reservations for SC/ST, OBC, physically handicapped and other categories.
The UPSC exam 2017 consists of three stages:
1. UPSC Prelims
2. UPSC Mains
3. UPSC Board Interview
The UPSC Prelims 2017 application process has already started and the last date of application is 17th March 2017.

The eligibility criterion for the IAS Exam 2017 is mentioned in the notification
Age condition: Minimum age – 21 years
Maximum age – 32 years
There is a relaxation of the maximum age for different categories. Check the table below for details:

Educational condition: candidate must hold a valid bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

 Go to the UPSC Civil Services exam link.
 Click on and fill in the part I of the registration.
 A registration number will be generated.
 Use the registration number generated and fill up the part II of the registration.
 Click on the submit button
 The Prelims admit card will be sent online about three weeks before the exam.

The application fee for the UPSC prelims exam is ₹100/-. Female candidates, SC/ST, PH candidates are exempt from paying the fees.
The IAS exam 2017 consists of the following stages/rounds. You must get the required cutoff in the UPSC Prelims to be eligible to take the mains exam. Similarly, only if you get the required cutoff in the mains round will you be summoned to attend the UPSC interview.

UPSC Board Interview/Personality Test
The interview is of a total of 275 marks, thus making the grand total 2025 marks. In the interview you will face the UPSC board who will assess your overall personality and whether you have the traits required of a civil servant. Your strength of character, mental toughness and general interests will be tested.
