Question

How do you find speed in circular motion?

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Speed in a circular motion

A sample is shown in the figure. when a golf ball is cranked around in circles while being connected to a string. You might say that the golf ball is moving in a uniform circular motion because it moves in a circle while moving at a constant speed.

Any item moving in a circle with a constant radius always completes the circle in the same period of time. Its period was created by T, and it occurs at that moment.

Step 2: Calculate the speed in a circular motion

You can readily relate the speed of the ball to its period if you are swinging a golf ball on a string at a constant temperature. You are aware that the radius of the circle, which is, equals the distance the ball must travel each time around the circle.

Circumferenceofcircle=2πr

Where r is the radius of the circle, so you can get the equation for finding an objects period by first finding its speed:

v=circumferenceperiodv=2πrT
