How is Heat Transferred in the Body?

The body can transfer the heat through the heat exchange mechanism. The body can either gain or lose heat with the help of this mechanism.

We know that heat is continuously generated in our body by the metabolic process. The heat can be exchanged among the internal organs of the body as well as with the environment through four different heat exchange mechanism, such as:

Conduction – Transfers heat from one object to other objects through physical contact

Convection – Transfers heat to water or air

Radiation – Transfers heat through infrared radiation

Evaporation – Transfers heat from the state of liquid to gas
