The Actinides that are found in nature:

  • Only five actinides exist naturally which are Thorium, Protoactinium, Uranium, Neptunium and Plutonium while the other actinides are man made which are prepared by nuclear reactors.
  • Thorium and Uranium are only actinides which are found in large quantity, they also carry small amount of Neptunium and Plutonium in their ores.
  • Almost all the actinides are artificially prepared by the nuclear reactor and used to prepare bombs. They explodes when expose in nature.
  • Actinides are also radioactive in nature, thus it is used for making cardiac pacemakers.

Thus, there are many Actinides which are abundant in nature.
