The products formation during monochlorination:

Step 1: When carbon is attached with four different substituents, then it is chiral carbon.

Step 2: When 2-methyl butane is chlorinated four products are formed.

Step3: Only two Chiral compounds are formed in this reaction.

Here, Iand III compounds are Chiral compounds(marked as asterisk).

So, there are two Chiral Compounds are Possible on Monochlorination of 2- methyl butane
