Question

Is polar or nonpolar stronger?

Open in App
Solution

Explanation:

  1. Polar bond: When the electrons are not distributed equally during the bond formation such a type of bond is called a polar bond.
  2. Nonpolar bond: When the electrons are equally distributed during the bond formation such a type of bond is called a nonpolar bond.
  3. As polar and nonpolar both bonds are covalent so it is difficult to predict which one is stronger.
  4. In the polar bond some extra force of attraction is there so the polar bond is stronger than nonpolar bond.

Hence, the polar bond is stronger than the non-polar bond.
