  1. The haplo-diplontic lifecycle includes the alternation of generations between a haploid gametophyte and a diploid sporophyte.
  2. This life cycle is exhibited by bryophytes and pteridophytes.
  3. This lifecycle has two phases.
  4. The zygote which is diploid develops into diploid sporophytic generation.
  5. Sporophytes produce sporangia that through meiosis produce haploid zoospores.
  6. Zoospores develop into a haploid gametophytic generation.
  7. Gametes are produced by gametophytes.
  8. Male and female gametes fuse and form a diploid zygote.
  9. The haplo-diplontic lifecycle can be isomorphic or heteromorphic.
