  1. When the total of all the forces operating on a body equals zero, the forces acting on the body are referred to as balanced forces.
  2. A balanced force is shown by the forces acting on a book on a table.
  3. One of the forces acting on the table is the downward gravitational pull of the earth, whereas the other force pushing on the book is the upward force owing to the table.
  4. The magnitude of balanced forces are equal but the direction is opposite.
  5. There is no change in motion when forces are balanced.
