Hydrogen Bonds and Van Der Waals Interactions. Hydrogen bonds are known as weak bonds because under normal biological conditions, they are easily and quickly produced and broken. Of all intermolecular attractions between molecules, Van der Waals interaction is the worst.
Generally, the ionic bond is the weakest of the true chemical bonds which bind atoms to atoms. Two main forms of bonds exist: weak bonds between molecules, and strong bonds between atoms. Soft bonds – bonds of van der Waals. The atoms and molecules are both weakly attracted to each other. This is called the attraction at van der Waals. With this kind of weak bond, all liquids and some solids are formed.
