1. Sulphur is an element denoted by “S”.

Sulphate

1. A sulphate is a polyatomic ion formed by Sulphur and Oxygen .i.e, SO4-2.

2. It is neutral and does not bear any charge.2. It bears -2 charge and it's an anion.
3. Here, "S" have zero oxidation number.3. The oxidation number of "S" here is +6.
4. The atomic mass of "S" is 32.065u.4. The molecular weight of Sulphate is 96.06 g/mol.
5. There are many derivatives of Sulphur which are used in gun powder, manufacturing of fertilizers, batteries,etc.

5. Sulphate are used in cleansing agents like soaps, shampoos,etc.

Sodium lauryl and Sodium laureth are the two main types of Sulphates which are used in shampoos.
