Question

What is the role of sample size in the central limit theorem?

Open in App
Solution

The central limit theorem:

  • The Central limit theorem is used when there are large data. It approximates the normal distribution, by taking the means of the samples.
  • The sample size is small data taken randomly to find the approximate value for large data.
  • The mean and standard deviation of the population can be determined using large samples.

To apply the central limit theorem, the sample size should be equal to or greater than 30.
