Class D has the highest efficiency because less power is dissipated as heat in active devices, the efficiency of a class D amplifier is higher than that of other amplifiers.
The reason is the output of the transistors is fully turned ON or OFF during operation, Class D amplifiers are exceptionally efficient (sometimes up to or higher). As a result, the output device has no power loss.
To regulate the output devices, Class-D amplifiers use some type of pulse-width modulation.
The non-linear switching technology is used in the D amplifier.
