NTA will be conducting the JEE Mains 2019 for the first time. This exam will be in the computer based mode. CBSE was the conducting body of JEE Mains till 2018 and date of exam, centre and time used to be given in the admit card itself. But from 2019, there are certain changes in the exam. So a candidate who is appearing for JEE Mains can check the details of date of exam, shift, and exam city on the official NTA site using their logins.
There is no provision for the candidates to select the date of exam, shift at the time of filling of application form. It has been mentioned that date of exam, shift and centre will be allocated after the end date of application submission by the computer software as per the NTA.
Steps to follow to check exam date, shift and centre:
- Candidate needs to visit the official website, jeemain.nic.in.
- As the home page open up, click on “Know your date and shift”.
- After that candidate has to enter the application number, password and also the captcha in the space given.
- Click on search and get the details of exam like, date, time, shift, and centre.
- Get a print of it.
JEE Mains will be conducted two times in a year, one is already over, and the next will be in April. Registration for the same will start from February 7 to March 8, 2019. Exam will be conducted in April from 6 to 20, 2019. It will have two papers, both are compulsory. Paper I will have 90 questions, with 30 questions each from Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Paper II will have 83 questions containing 30 questions for mathematics, 50 questions for aptitude and 3 questions for drawing. Paper I will be in online mode and will be given 3 hours. Whereas in Paper II, Mathematics and aptitude will be in online mode and drawing will be in pen-paper mode. Time duration for Paper II will also be 3 hours.
