JEE Main 2019 will be conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency in the online mode of examination (computer-based test). Slot 1 will be conducted in January followed by slot 2 in April. The examination pattern, syllabus, and other structures will remain unchanged. The candidates can opt for either both or any of the slots. The better scores among both the slots will be taken into consideration while evaluating JEE Main 2019 results.

JEE Main 2019 Overview

It is a national level engineering entrance examination conducted for granting admission to BE, B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Plan courses offered by NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. Additionally, most of the private engineering institutes offer admission based on the marks secured in the Main examination. In 2018, out of total 1.13 million students appeared, 2.31 lakh students qualified for the advanced level. Also, the top 2,24,000 students from JEE Main 2019 will be eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced. The students aspiring for top 1000 rank must target somewhere around 240 marks. Hence, the level of competition and the vast syllabus makes it one of the toughest undergraduate level engineering entrance exam across the globe. JEE Main 2019 Dates

JEE Main 2019 dates are released by NTA. The candidates are suggested to remain updated with important dates of JEE Mains 2019 to avoid missing important events. Slot 1 and Slot 2 will be conducted from 6th of Jan to 20th of Jan and 7th of April to 21st of April 2019. Given below are important dates of JEE Main Exam to be conducted in January and April.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The examination will test the candidates in 3 subjects, namely, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. The questions will be from class 11th and class 12th syllabus prescribed by CBSE. JEE Mains 2019 paper 1 will be of 360 marks (90 question) i.e. 30 questions from each subject with the time duration of 3 hours. All the question will be single answer type multiple choice questions.

Marking Scheme: For every correct answer, the students will be awarded +4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answers. however, no marks will be deducted for questions left unattempted.
