NEET 2017 results to be updated : Allahabad High Court Directs CBSE

Recently, the Allahabad HC directed the Central Board of Secondary Education to upgrade the marks granted to students who appeared in the NEET exam 2017 and update the merit list accordingly. The court passed an order allowing a written petition filed by a candidate who scored 665 marks in the NEET Exam 2017.

The petitioner moved to the court with the dispute that the official answer given to question number 172 was answered incorrectly following which a representation against the OMR grading was filed.

While allowing the petition, the court stated that they found none of the candidates has correctly answered question number 172. Therefore, the opinion of the court should benefit not only the petitioner but also all the applicants who appeared for the exam. The court has directed the CBSE accordingly, to award appropriate marks to all the students for question number 172.

The court has also added that even though the petitioner did not claim for the return of fees that was paid in challenging the answer key, but as the challenge made by the petitioner is valid, the court has directed CBSE to refund the amount paid by the petitioner at the earliest.
