Ocean salinity is caused because of rain, washing minerals from cracks of mountains and fissures, cliffs, and valleys and due to rock formation in water.
They are slightly acidic and help erode rock faster.
Even salt present in the sea comes from runoff from the land surface.
Oceans are not uniformly salty.
When travelling closer to the poles, water becomes less saline. This is because water which is released from glaciers dilutes the salt concentration.
