  2. Examples- bacteria, archaea, and cyanobacteria.
  3. These organisms carry out all functions required for their maintenance and survival using one cell.
  4. Therefore, prokaryotes are unicellular and not multicellular.
  5. Sometimes, prokaryotes like cyanobacteria (Nostoc) form large colonies and exist as multicellular units.
