Evolution:

The changes occurring in the inherited characteristics of a biological population over consecutive generations are termed evolution.

Effect of human actions on the evolution of other species:

  1. As we know, we live in an ecosystem where organisms interact with each other.
  2. Due to this, the actions of each organism impact other organisms in some way.
  3. Anthropogenic actions such as the use of pesticides, weedicides, fertilizers, antibiotics, etc., affect the evolution of species.
  4. Use of antibiotics or pesticides might kill bacteria and pests respectively but with time, their overuse might result in the evolution of these organisms, they become resistant to antibiotics and pesticides.
  5. These actions of humans, affect the process of natural selection.
