Solution

Reproduction in Planaria:

  1. Planaria refers to a group of free-living flatworms belonging to the class Turbellaria.
  2. They are mostly aquatic, found in both salt water and fresh water.
  3. Planaria reproduces both sexually and asexually.
  4. As planaria are considered hermaphroditic they possess both male and female sex glands.
  5. They produce “summer eggs” and “winter eggs” for sexual reproduction.
  6. But they cannot fertilize their own eggs, sperms of other planaria fertilize them.
